Lately I have been all about the mocktails (#notpregnant). Ever since completing my Whole 30, I have continued my weeknight mocktails and indulged in some occasional weekend cocktails too. I'm loving this new routine, and I look forward to my mocktail every night when Jeremy and I watch television. I've slowly created my own versions of "tricked out" sparkling waters that felt more special than drinking it straight from the can. And today I'm here to share my new go-to recipe that I've been making every single night.
In the past I posted my three favorite mocktails. And I'll be honest—it's hard to find those special drinks that taste equally as good with or without alcohol. Bonus points if it's light and healthy like the one I am sharing today!
I'll share how to make this as a delicious, light cocktail or mocktail.
Simply Balanced sparkling water (available at Target, sub for any other sparkling water you want!)
cranberry juice cocktail (sub with %100 cranberry juice if you are avoiding sugar)
lime juice (fresh or bottled is fine)
In a tall glass (I typically use a mason jar), add a few ice cubes, a handful of frozen blueberries, a squirt (or squeeze) of lime juice and a splash of cranberry juice. Top it off with sparkling water (this flavor pictured is my favorite, but any will work).
Next, if you are in the mood for a cocktail, add 1 ounce of Gin and 1/2 an ounce of St-Germain. The St-Germain adds a lot of sweetness and flavor.
*Note—this is a very lightly sweetened drink, which I love. If you want something sweeter, change your proportions to 1/2 or 3/4 cranberry juice cocktail and less sparkling water. :)
Cheers! xx. Elsie
